Gearbox could 'fix' this either by adding options to matchmaking (the ideal solution) to disable the sanity check, or by just adding the sanity check to the bank vault/claptrap stash (and have it run whenever it is opened). This also means that if you have a hybrid rocket launcher that feature both a rocket launcher barrel, a pistol barrel and a shotgun accessory, the sanity check will remove it from inventory next time the character is loaded. That means that if you create a pistol with a sight, but assign it to the 'regular' pool which doesn't have any sights in it, the sanity check will remove it next time the character is loaded. The sanity check ensures that the only parts on a weapon are within the balance pool assigned to the weapon. Each type of weapon (pistol, AR, SMG, etc) has its own balance pools(jakobs regular, jakobs uncommon, jakobs rare, etc).
